Hockenheim. After about 8 months of construction, the completion of the shell construction marks another milestone in the construction of the Porsche Experience Center on the traditional route, which is known worldwide. Together with the emodrom group, Porsche invited more than 200 guests to the topping-out ceremony. A modern infrastructure is being built on a total area of about 176,000 square meters. Around 9,000 m3 of reinforced concrete, 740 tonnes of reinforcement steel and more than 1,000 sqm of glass façade are installed in the building. On the newly built area for the handling route, several dynamic areas and the off-road course, 60,000 m3 earth masses are moved and a total line of about 2,600 m with 16 left and 13 right turns are built. At Hockenheimring, private law investor emodrom-group is responsible for the strategic development with Hockenheim-Ring GmbH and was able to win Porsche as an anchor tenant for the joint project. It is currently the largest financial construction project in the city.

The thanks were especially due to the architects, planners and companies who, with their employees, have been ensuring that the plant can be handed over to Porsche on schedule at the end of the year.

„When I presented my concept to Lord Mayor Gummer, my current colleague Georg Seiler and the local council in 2012, my goal was to inspire a leading premium manufacturer for our idea. The fact that Porsche, as my preferred partner with its internationally successful PEC concept, is located with us at the renowned traditional location of Hockenheimring is a good win for all parties involved. Today, trusting cooperation with the administration and the municipal bodies shows what is possible if you work together to achieve a goal. As an investor, we operate business development in the best sense of the word for the city and the thriving Rhine-Neckar metropolitan area and offer our anchor tenant Porsche a unique location. I would like to thank our entire team, who are doing their best here with a great deal of commitment and passion and are delighted to be able to participate in the design and realignment of this traditional circuit, „says Thomas Reister, Board of Directors of the emodrom group.

„With our topping-out ceremony, we are optimally on schedule, so that customers and fans of Porsche can look forward to experiencing the brand and vehicles at the Hockenheimring starting in the autumn,“ says Alexander Pollich, CEO of Porsche Deutschland GmbH. „Our seventh Porsche Experience Center is being built in the heart of one of Europe’s most traditional racetracks and in close proximity to our Stuttgart headquarters – the location couldn’t be better.“
